To improve hip internal rotation and abduction for stronger and more functional hip movement. To build strength and control over greater ranges of motion, allowing your body to actively call upon those ranges when you need them. These techniques aim to turn passive ranges into active ranges of joint motion.
  1. Sit in 90/90, place your hands on the floor, either side of your front thigh and sit up tall.
  2. Brace through your core and lift your back, knee and foot off the floor as high as possible without leaning to the side or rounding your spine.
  3. Hold the position for 5 seconds. Aim for a horizontal shin (knee and foot equally as high).
  4. Return your leg to the floor and repeat two more times.
