On our home page, proceed as if you were going to log in and click on the “forgot password?” link on top of the “log in” button. You will be able to enter your email and get a verification link sent to your inbox.

You can update those in by clicking on “Account” in the main menu, then click on “Edit”.

To update your credit card, 

  • Click on “Account” in the main menu
  • Click on “Subscriptions”
  • Click on “Update credit card”
  • Enter your new CC details

*Note that you can only do these changes on our website, and not directly inside the Barefoot Surf app.

You can cancel or pause your membership at any time:

  • Click on “Account” in the main menu
  • Click on “Subscriptions”
  • Click on “Pause” or “Cancel”

Whether you pause or cancel your subscription, your credit card will not be charged for the upcoming renewal fee.

After cancelling or pausing your account, you will be able to access the platform’s content until the last day of your billing cycle, and you will not receive a refund for the current subscription period. For example, if you purchase a Yearly Membership on January 10th, 2024, and cancel/pause on September 4th, 2024, you will still have access to all the content until January 10th, 2025.

No, this is specified in our terms and conditions. You may, however, cancel your subscription so that you do not get charged the upcoming renewal fee.


You can access our content on your phone, tablet and laptop, as the platform is fully responsive.

You can watch your tutorials on nearly any device:

  • Desktop, laptop, tablet or phone

For a better mobile & tablet experience, and to have the ability to download tutorials directly on your device, we recommend using the Barefoot Surf App.

Additionally, you can watch your content on your TV by:

  • Linking your iPhone phone or Mac computer using Airplay with Apple TV 
  • Using an HDMI cord to connect a computer or laptop to your TV

Over the years, we have gained significant knowledge on how surfers progress, what are the key techniques they need to learn, what are the most common mistakes, how to fix them, etc.

Originally, we had designed our tutorials to help the hundreds of beginner & intermediate surfers that join our coaching retreats. They are specifically designed for the types of surfers that join our retreats, which are: 

  • Surfers that never surfed before or tried only a few times
  • Surfers that are starting to catch & surf unbroken waves by themselves
  • Surfers that can consistently angle their take off & ride the shoulder 
  • Surfers that are working on manoeuvres like cutbacks, floaters, snaps, etc. 
  • You cannot be “too much of a beginner” to benefit from our tutorials. They are built specifically for beginner and intermediate surfers (including ones that have never tried surfing before).
  • You can be too advanced for our tutorials. At the moment we do not have advanced tutorials, for example, how to get barrelled, how to do airs, etc.

This is not possible. You can only access all our surf content with a premium membership.

It’s possible to download our tutorials directly on your phone or tablet when using the Barefoot Surf App (available for iOS and Android).

If you haven’t used our App before, look for the “Barefoot Surf” App in the App Store or Google Play store. You will be able to log in to the App using the same username & password you were using on our Website platform.

To download courses, head to the “Courses” Tab inside the App (see the “graduation hat” icon at the bottom of your phone or tablet). Once in “courses”, at the bottom right corner of every course, you will see a purple cloud with a downward arrow. Click on that cloud and wait for it to download. If it’s not responding, quit and reopen the app and please go back to try again, send us an email for any issues. You can not download our videos on the web version, only on the App.

You can only download “full courses” including all video tutorials, you can’t download specific videos inside those courses. For example, you can download the “Take Off Techniques” course, which includes 9 video tutorials. By downloading the Take Off course, you will automatically download those 9 videos on your phone or tablet. You can not download only 1 of those 9 videos.

Our platform has a limit of 3 devices per user. 

If, for example, you are connected on your phone, tablet and desktop and you then connect on another device, it will log out one of those other devices automatically.

We recommend not sharing your password with anybody, as this could limit your access to your account. If someone else has access to your account and keeps logging you out, we recommend changing your password so that you may be the only person that is able to log in to your account.

You will get access to all our surf tutorials, key elements, quizzes, forums, discussions, support from Barefoot Coaches, plus any new content that we create, as long as you stay subscribed.

We do not have the ability to cancel your Premium Membership “in-app”. You can cancel or pause your membership by going to your Membership Settings on our website, by going into your Account.

Purchasing a Premium subscription is currently only possible directly on the website, and not inside the Barefoot Surf App.

After purchasing on our website, you will be able to use the same username & password to log into the App on your Android or Apple device.

Right now, the easiest way to access your downloaded courses on the Barefoot Surf App while you are on Airplane mode is to:

  • Click on “More” in the bottom right tab
  • Click on “Courses & Downloads”
  • Click on “Downloaded Courses”

From there you should be able to watch all the courses & videos that you’ve previously downloaded, even while on Airplane mode.

If you’re based in Indonesia or attempting to watch our platform from Indonesia, you may experience video visibility issues.

Government Ban on Vimeo.com: The Indonesian government has imposed restrictions on Vimeo.com, affecting the video hosting service we utilize for our platform.

To overcome this, we recommend using a VPN such as TunnelBear.com when accessing our platform or app.

VPN Usage: Employing a VPN can help you bypass the government’s restriction on Vimeo.com and enable seamless access to our video content.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by these external factors beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out to us via email if you encounter any difficulties or require further assistance.

If you’re attempting to download multiple courses simultaneously, it is advisable to keep your device “On” throughout the process. Adjusting your device settings to “Do not Sleep” can help ensure that each course is downloaded correctly.

Additionally, if you encounter problems with certain videos after downloading a course, consider deleting the course and downloading it again to address the issue.

These challenges may arise when the internet connection is unstable or slower than usual.

Our prices are in USD (United States Dollars).

At the moment when you get a Yearly Membership, you can fully deduct your first year’s payment on our surf coaching retreats, no matter when or where you decide to join us!

No it won’t.

We constantly invest in improving our platform with new content and tools that help subscribers surf better.

Therefore, we do sometimes raise our subscription prices. Only “new” subscriptions will be affected by the price rise. If you have initially purchased a subscription for “X” dollars per year/month, you will continue paying the same “X” dollars per year/month, even though prices shown on the website are higher than what you currently pay.

However, if you cancel your subscription and decide to re-subscribe again, it will be at the new, updated price.

We accept payments by credit cards or PayPal.


If you have noticed that something isn’t right or performing how it should within the Barefoot Surf app or website, we encourage you to reach out to us so that we can help identify any potential bugs that may be affecting other members too!

  1. Your device’s model number e.g. iPhone 11/Android Samsung 9.
  2. An explanation of what is occurring and how you expect the app should correctly function
  3. Any screenshots, if available.
