Welcome to Surf Safety. This course covers the main risks you may encounter in the water, so you can better understand how to handle them. That said, surfing is not considered a particularly dangerous sport. Research shows a relatively low injury rate. Most injuries are minor, often involving contact with boards. This matches what we’ve seen coaching surfers over the years.

As a surfer, you spend a lot of time in the ocean, often with a flotation device right by your side. Our goal is to give you clear, practical advice to help you and others stay safer and enjoy the sport even more.
