Is catching waves on midlengths similar to longboards, just later in the wave?
Been surfing a 9’0 performance longboard mostly, tried a friend’s 7’6 and had a fun wave. Just bought a used 6’8 Seaside Beyond midlength.
Super squirrely on the take off, but I’m learning — In Santa Cruz the waves are soft and rolling. Is it just a matter of taking off later, or if a longboard is sitting on the line up, you just sit 5-6 ft deeper in?
Thanks all! stoked and learning.
